Computer Science and Mathematics Senator:  This Senator advocates for students in academic areas relating to Computer Science and Mathematics through campaigns, projects, and major decisions aimed at improving life for students at SOU. The position requires about 9 hours per week, which includes a 3-hour meeting of the senate every other Tuesday at 6pm, sitting on 3 different committees of your choosing, writing and reading legislation, and office hours to meet with students within the purview of this position. ASSOU, SOU, and the City of Ashland have several committees which strongly need and encourage student participation. Having student representation on these committees is extremely important, especially because they often make decisions that greatly impact students. These committees are unpaid, but look great on a resume, and provide valuable experience!

General Committee Responsibilities
  - Attend all meetings
  - Make decisions based on the needs of students as a whole
  - Speak up and inform student government if committees are not making decisions with the best interest of              students in mind
  - Present committee work to the student senate once per term
